‘Will’ is Leo O'Kelly's third album, following Glare and Proto. These songs are somewhat of a departure for Leo, being the first time he has collaborated with a lyricist. 10 of the 11 lyrics on Will were written specially for Leo by John McKeown, a Liverpool poet now based in Dublin. The title song ‘Will’ was published in John’s 2009 collection ‘Sea of Leaves’. The theme, which seemed to materialise of its own accord, is one of obsession, and dark desire.
Leo O'Kelly, along with Sonny Condell, is a founder member of the legendary alternative folk duo, Tir na nOg, who released three highly acclaimed, and influential albums on Chrysalis Records in the 70s, and have put out several albums since, including BBC John Peel Sessions, and their new CD on Life & Living Records, ‘Live At Sirius’.
